The Current State

Water Clarity & Effective Rigs

Flows are stable on the Upper Sacramento, with excellent clarity at 4-5 feet. Water temperature holding at 52°F. Caddis hatches are strong in the late afternoon, with sporadic PMD activity.

Recommended rigs include a 9ft 5X leader with a size 16 Elk Hair Caddis or a size 18 Parachute Adams. For subsurface, try a size 18 Copper John or a size 20 Zebra Midge. Focus on deeper runs and riffles.
